SPI Bookkeeping is a father-and-son team based in South Texas, dedicated to helping local small businesses stay organized and financially confident. Our story began inside our own family business, where we—Ernie and Ryan Zavaleta—spent four years managing the bookkeeping for a family-owned restaurant. Working hands-on with real financial operations gave us practical experience with accounting software, reporting, and the day-to-day challenges small business owners deal with.
That experience taught us what truly matters: clear communication, accurate records, and a process that makes bookkeeping feel simple instead of stressful. We know the value of reliable financial information, and we understand how important it is for business owners to have support they can trust.

Our Team
Ernie Zavaleta
Ernie brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and 10 years as a small business owner. He understands both the financial side of running a business and the day-to-day challenges owners face. Additionally, he holds an MBA from the University of Texas, further strengthening his strategic and financial expertise. At SPI Bookkeeping, Ernie focuses on client relations, making sure clients feel supported, informed, and confident in their financial decisions. He is fluent in Spanish and is happy to assist Spanish-speaking clients.
Co-Founder
Ryan Zavaleta
Ryan graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in Finance. He is a QuickBooks Advanced ProAdvisor and has 4 years of bookkeeping experience. Ryan focuses on QuickBooks and the tech side of bookkeeping, helping keep financial records organized, accurate, and easy to manage.
